I finally got to see the X-Files Movie: I want to Believe in cinemas and (inside) I'm still squeeing.

I had heard a lot of bad stuff about the film, how people didn't like it etc but I went anyway, I have waited six years after all so why not? And I don't understand what's wrong with it?
Yes, it doesn't follow directly on from the series.
No, there's not a lot of answers given from the mythology.
But yes it's a great film and a great story as a stand alone piece of work. There was mention of Samantha and of William and of other things that you had to see the series to understand but it was just tid-bits.

I thought Billy Connolly was fantastic - I wasn't too sure about it in the trailers but he really went away from the usual comedy roles and you could believe him in the role he was playing.
When Scully first came on screen I actually got shivers, which was weird but never mind. I liked how she was still a doctor and pursuing her own cause.
Mulder - even with a beard he's damn sexy!! His comedy was always on time and subtly funny (a few laughs went round the rest of the audience too) and he can still spin a good yarn about a conspiracy.

Even Skinner was in the movie!! I almost jumped in my seat when I saw him and fangirly tapped my mum and whispered "It's Skinner!!" - yes I'm that bad! but it was nice he was there.

Best moments for me:
-Pencils on the roof of Mulder's office (continued from the S5 ep that Stephen King wrote)
-The picture of George W. Bush and having the theme music play (very funny)
-Scully and Mulder in bed ............yes you read that right!
-Scully and Mulder kissing .............again you read that right.
-Mulder's tickly beard
-And hearing the theme music after so many years, that just made me want to clap!

All in all, I say see the movie, screw the critics and bask in the amazingness that is this saga and is this on-screen duo. You won't be disappointed.

And so I'll finish with a couple of funny vids of the two:

<lj-embed id="10" />

<lj-embed id="11" />

Also, if people do go see the film, wait till the end of the credits for a little bit extra - you won't be disappointed!

I've learnt in the past 48 hours that old high school shit will never leave you. It can be 10 years, 20 whatever and you'll still get people coming back from the past and making you feel like you're fifteen again. But I say screw 'em! If they can't let you be who your are then sod them. Live for the moment and for the people you care for. Don't live for anyone else who really just doesn't give a damn.
Respect works both ways and unless you're getting back why bother giving it out? If there's people making you miserable and hating yourself or what you're doing, why be around them?
You only get one shot at life and to spend it being miserable and pleasing others is no way to live. Life is about you. That's not a self centered message but if you don't live your life for yourself and loved ones then who are you living it for?

Live in the moment. Love the ones who love you and screw the ones who don't.

Carpe fucking diem man and don't ever forget it.

......(something I just had to post after finding stuff out yesterday - The false impressions are no longer there and I see people for who they are. So if you don't care for me then I don't care for you. Simple)

I suffered the loss of my grandfather when i was 13/14 which led to two years of suicidal depression and becoming a somewhat pathalogical liar which ended up in a few friendships changing as a result - I have gotten over both since and no longer wish to kill myself or to lie.
But as my life enters its 20's I've decided to treat it as an adventure. I'm practically on my way to Australia next year, and I've decided that I want to apply to NYU to do a creative writing degree - I've always wanted to study in the States so it's just one plan I have.
I've wasted my teenage years and I don't plan to waste the years that are to come. Part of me has this feeling that I'm going to die young - not sure why but it's something that I've always felt, but life's going to be good from now on
One thing I didn't acomplish when I was a teenager was to become a published author by the time i was 20. It would have happened had the deal not been a scam but give me a couple of years and I feel as though my writing will be strong enough to get published - it's already changing now for the better.

Thanks to
aliciad86 and [info]englishstrawbie for your birthday wishes

There's also posters been put up in town, so when I'm on the bus I usually see one :) and just now as I sent off an email there was an ad banner for it.
What was great though was that a trailer was aired during Lost which is still getting high ratings and at the start of the Bond film - although it wasn't there when I went to see Bond - but as I'm a huge fan of this series I'm wanting the film to be a success so everyone go and see it on the 15th!!

I also love Daniel Craig as the new James Bond - he's by fare the hottest one they've had, and not one that looks like a grandpa.
Parents really surprise you. This year I've had my ups and downs with my dad but he seems to be in support of me travelling as it's something he did when he was my age and he's even offered to help me sell my Halifax shares (worth around £1,400) and this morning he offered to buy me a wireless laptop to take with me.
I was trying to save up for my own and would have happily paid for it myself as I learnt along time a go not to ask for anything and when people make big gestures to me it never sits well with me as I always feel they didn't have to do it, so I don't know if it is going to happen but i'll be offering to pay for some of it as I don't like people spending lots of money on me - never have done, anyone else like that?
But the shares belong to me anyway so it'll be nice to add them to my travelling money but if I can get a job till the time I'll leave I hope I can get a couple things that I might need.

This is still all speculative though as I've not heard about my visa yet, it was two weeks a go today I applied, so I've got another two weeks in which to hear about it.
